St. Paul, MN – Minnesota Flexible Corporation (MFC ), of St. Paul, Minn., a leading fabricator of industrial hose, fittings, and formed tube assemblies, has announced its acquisition of General Rubber Company (GRC) of New Berlin, Wis. a distributor of hoses and accessories for hydraulic, air, water, welding, refrigeration, and other equipment.

In making the announcement, MFC President Will Stewart said that his company had been looking for a way to enter the Wisconsin industrial market but needed the right opportunity. When he heard that General Rubber Company might be on the market, he contacted the owner, Jack Kacsur of Brookfield, who indicated he was on the verge of retiring. The sale and terms were then put into writing, and the deal was consummated.

In addition to GRC’s New Berlin headquarters office, fabrication shop, and warehouse, the sale also includes General Rubber Company’s office, fabrication shop, and warehouse in Appleton that serves Green Bay and the Fox River Valley. Prior to moving to its expanded location in New Berlin four years ago, General Rubber Company had been located in the same Milwaukee downtown location for 50 years.

Stewart said that the location of General Rubber Company was an ideal fit for MFC. “We have been looking for an avenue to penetrate the eastern Wisconsin market for several years. We feel our product offerings will be an excellent fit for that marketplace,” he added.
